Metro Blades is a primarily-foil (although we do also welcome epee and sabre fencers), city-based club whose aim is to provide an environment of
competition, recreation, learning, and fun. Currently we have over 40
members who comprise a unique mix of adults, university
students and teenagers, ranging in skill from novice to seasoned competitor. We are predominantly an adult-oriented club, although we do hold the occassional class for children, resources permitting, but they are low-priority. For an excellent and skilled youth-centered fencing club please visit My Fencing Club. Whether recreational or competitive, our members fence because they enjoy
the mental as well as physical challenges the sport offers.
If you want to learn more about fencing, you can check out our
About Fencing section, or check to see if we are offering one of our
beginner’s classes (intermittent schedule).
If you are interested in the club, we have information on our fees
and equipment polices. We meet twice a week as outlined in our
practice schedule, and both Metro Blades locations
are conveniently located in the downtown area and are easily accessible by TTC transit and car.
We are also affiliated with the Ontario Fencing Association (OFA)
and the Canadian Fencing Federation (CFF).
